Weingut Wieninger is based across the Danube in Stammersdorf, in the 21st district, and under Fritz Wieninger it became one of the names that brought Viennese wine international respect, above all for Wiener Gemischter Satz — the traditional field blend of several white varieties grown and harvested together, protected since 2013 as a DAC. The winery also farms prime sites on the Nussberg, the steep vineyard hill above Nussdorf in the 19th district, and this simple tavern among the vines is where it pours them.
